Los Angeles Lakers Injuries: Both Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard sidelined indefinitely

Los Angeles Lakers injuries have plagued the team thus far this NBA season, and amidst their current three game skid, they got more bad news as far as additions to their injury report is concerned on Monday.

The team announced that both of the Los Angeles Lakers injuries are to both of their starting big men, forward Pau Gasol and center Dwight Howard, and that they are sidelined for indefinite periods of time.

Pau Gasol sustained a concussion when he took an inadvertent shot to the face from Denver Nuggets center JaVale McGee during the Lakers loss on Sunday. The Dwight Howard injury to his shoulder is a torn labrum, which he suffered back on Friday in the Lakers loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. Howard will be reevaluated in one weeks time, however as of now there is no specific time table for either players’ return.

According to sources, the Toronto Raptors and Minnesota Timberwolves have expressed interest in acquiring Los Angeles Lakers power forward Pau Gasol.

The Los Angeles Lakers have informed the entire league that they plan to assess their roster once guard Steve Nash returns.

Sources have confirmed that the Minnesota Timberwolves have proposed a Pau Gasol trade that includes Nikola Pekovic and Derrick Williams. Minnesota wants to form a three-man core with Pau Gasol, Ricky Rubio and Kevin Love.

Sources also have confirmed that the Toronto Raptors have proposed a trade to acquire Pau Gasol that includes Linas Kleiza, Andrea Bargnani and Jose Calderon.

Los Angeles number one target if they were to entertain trading Gasol is supposedly New Orleans Hornets forward Ryan Anderson, however he is considered virtually untouchable by the team’s front office.

When the Steve Nash return to the court finally happens and he plays alongside Pau Gasol, the team may ask their starting point guard to reconsider.
