The Phoenix Suns have agreed to make Jeff Hornacek their next head coach, according to multiple media reports.

Hornacek, who played 14 years in the NBA and recently was an assistant coach for the Utah Jazz, will be inking a three-year contract on Monday to officially join the Suns.

Hornacek, who is 50 years of age, also interviewed with the Charlotte Bobcats for their vacancy at the head coach position. With that said, Phoenix started negotiating their deal with Hornacek early on Sunday.

As a fan favorite in Phoenix while playing the first six years of his career with the Suns, Jeff Hornacek will try to help the club bounce back from one of the worst NBA seasons the franchise has gone through in it’s history.

The Phoenix Suns finished in last-place in the Western Conference with a record of 25-57. It was the league’s fourth worst record this past season, and the second worst in franchise history.
