Houston Rockets forward Royce White rejected the assignment he received to his team’s D-League affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, on Sunday. This is seen as another hindrance to White’s return to the basketball court for the Houston Rockets.

Royce White, who was the 16th overall pick in this past June’s NBA draft, has been on the Houston Rockets inactive list for most of the NBA season while he and his team try and figure out how to deal with his mental health and anxiety disorder.

The rookie’s assignment to the D-League, which was issued to him on Saturday, was supposed to be a positive step to getting him back on the basketball court. However, White released a statement on Sunday which stated that he would not be reporting to the team.

The Los Angeles Clippers finished off their perfect month of December by beating the Utah Jazz by the score of 107-96 Sunday night, giving them their 17th straight win.

The Los Angeles Clippers will finish the month undefeated (16-0), joining only the 1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers and the 1995-96 San Antonio Spurs, which their coach Vinny Del Negro played for, as the only three teams in NBA history to go a whole month without a loss to their record. The Clippers franchise-record win streak is the NBA’s longest since 2008, when the Boston Celtics won 19 straight games.

The Dwyane Wade return was made after he was forced to serve a suspension of one-game kicking guard Ramon Sessions in the groin during the Miami Heat’s win over the Charlotte Bobcats by the score of 105-92 on Wednesday night. Wade served the suspension during the Heat’s loss to the Detroit Pistons by the score of 109-99 on Friday night.

Two wins with two elite teams coming up on the Brooklyn Nets schedule.

The team certainly has looked better under interim coach P.J. Carlesimo compared to the final days that they were coached by Avery Johnson.

Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez put up 35 points, a season-high for him, while grabbing 11 rebounds as the Brooklyn Nets record improved to 2-0 while being coached by P.J. Carlesimo. They beat the Cleveland Cavaliers by the score of 103-100 Saturday night.

Joe Johnson and Deron Williams scored 15 points each for the Brooklyn Nets, who fired coach Avery Johnson earlier this week after losing 10 of 13 prior to their recent two game winning streak. They now have games versus the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder to prepare for.

New Orleans Hornets guard Eric Gordon return to the court for his team on Saturday night, and for the 24 minutes that he played, he looked like he picked up right where he left off.

Eric Gordon scored 24 points and dished out seven assists as the New Orleans Hornets cameback from deficit of 21 points in the first half to hand the Charlotte Bobcats their 18th straight loss by the score of 98-95.

The Charlotte Bobcats have one game left in December, and if they lose that, they will be winless for the month. The Bobcats have not won a game since November 24th.

Dwight Howard scored 21 points while grabbing 14 rebounds and Kobe Bryant put up 27 as the Los Angeles Lakers always had the lead in their sixth victory over their past seven games. They beat the Portland Trail Blazers by the score of 104-87 Friday night.

According to multiple sources, the Detroit Pistons and Boston Celtics are two clubs that have expressed high interest in Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins if he ever becomes available.

With that said, there is a good chance that there are several more teams interested in trading for Cousins from the Sacramento Kings.

Cousins has already been suspended three different times this NBA season. He has been handed down two suspensions by the NBA, and one, his most recent, by his own team. However, even with all of his troubles the Sacramento Kings still seem reluctant to trading DeMarcus Cousins.
